Descriptions and longer sentences

Describing things: adjectives without and with endings

After sein/bleiben/werden, a predicative adjective has no gender/case ending: Der Tisch ist neu. Die Tasche ist neu. Die Bücher sind neu. In front of a noun it normally needs an ending. Start with the following complete nominative contrasts:

Definite: der neue Tisch; die neue Tasche; das neue Buch; die neuen Bücher.

Indefinite: ein neuer Tisch; eine neue Tasche; ein neues Buch.

Plural without article: neue Bücher; with possessive: meine neuen Bücher.

In the accusative masculine: den neuen Tisch / einen neuen Tisch. Feminine and neuter match their nominative examples above.

In the dative after a marked article, the adjective normally takes -en: mit dem neuen Tisch / mit einer neuen Tasche / mit einem neuen Buch / mit den neuen Büchern.

This is a useful bridge, not a demand to master every adjective declension at once. Full zero-article, genitive and mixed patterns are mapped for A2/B1.

Example
Ich suche eine kleine Wohnung. Die Wohnung soll ruhig sein.
English
I am looking for a small apartment. The apartment should be quiet.
Hinglish
Main ek chhota flat dhoondh raha hoon. Flat shaant hona chahiye.
Worked example

Ich brauche einen neuen Stift. = I need a new pen.

Hinglish: Mujhe ek naya pen chahiye.

The adjective ending follows the masculine accusative pattern here.
